Washing Your Silk While dry cleaning is always a safe option, hand washing your Terasilk items at home is perfectly fine and often preferred.

Use Cold Water: Always wash silk in cold water (below 30°C/86°F). Heat can damage the integrity of the silk fibers.

Choose the Right Detergent: Use a pH-neutral, liquid detergent specifically formulated for silk or delicates. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and harsh stain removers, as they will strip the fabric of its natural oils.

Be Gentle: Submerge the silk and gently agitate the water. Do not wring, twist, or scrub the fabric. Let it soak for no longer than 5 minutes.
Drying and Ironing Never wring out your silk. Instead, lay the wet garment flat on a clean, dry towel and gently roll the towel to absorb excess moisture. Unroll it and lay the silk flat on a drying rack, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, which can cause the colors to fade.
If ironing is necessary, do so while the silk is still slightly damp. Turn the garment inside out and use the lowest heat setting on your iron (often labeled "Silk"). Alternatively, using a handheld garment steamer is an excellent, gentle way to remove wrinkles.
Storing Your Silk When not in use, store your Terasilk pieces in a cool, dry place. Avoid hanging silk knits or heavy pieces, as they may stretch out of shape; instead, fold them neatly. Keep them away from direct sunlight, and ensure they are clean before long-term storage to prevent attracting moths.
