Product description

The Pinnacle of Black Tea: Authentic Jin Jun Mei Discover the crown jewel of Chinese black teas with our authentic Jin Jun Mei (Golden Steed Eyebrow). Harvested exclusively in the early spring from the pristine, high-altitude core production area of the Wuyi Mountains, this extraordinary tea is crafted entirely from tender, unopened tea buds. It requires thousands of hand-plucked buds to produce just a single ounce, making it a true masterpiece of artisanal tea craftsmanship.

The Leaves & The Liquor The meticulous processing of this tea yields a sensory experience unlike any other, moving far beyond the flavor profile of traditional black teas.

  • The Dry Leaves: Exquisitely fine, tightly twisted, and beautifully wiry. The delicate dark leaves are heavily interspersed with striking, luminous golden tips (downy buds), carrying a rich, sweet fragrance.

  • The Tea Liquor: Upon steeping, the liquor shines with a brilliant, crystal-clear golden-amber hue. It is remarkably luminous, pure, and visually stunning in the cup.

Tasting Notes Unlike traditional Lapsang Souchong, Jin Jun Mei is unsmoked, allowing the pure, natural elegance of the high-mountain buds to shine through.

  • Aroma: An intoxicating bouquet of wild mountain honey, delicate florals, and a hint of sweet baked peach.

  • Palate: Exceptionally smooth, soft, and completely devoid of bitterness or astringency. The flavor is a symphony of nectar-like sweetness, fruity undertones, and a velvety, thick texture.

  • Finish: A remarkably clean, lingering sweet aftertaste that coats the mouth and leaves a delicate floral breath.

Premium Presentation We believe a tea of this caliber deserves packaging that reflects its prestige. Carefully portioned to preserve its delicate aromatics and absolute freshness, this tea is encased in sleek, minimalist silver-toned individual boxes. Finished with a classic red seal and elegant traditional calligraphy denoting its origin in the Wuyi core terroir, it serves as the ultimate gift for a tea connoisseur or a prized addition to your personal collection.

Recommended Brewing Guide (Gongfu Style) Because this tea is composed entirely of delicate buds, we recommend a slightly cooler water temperature than standard black teas to protect its honeyed sweetness.

  • Water Temperature: 85°C – 90°C (Avoid boiling water to prevent scalding the tender buds).

  • Tea to Water Ratio: 1 single-serving packet (approx. 3g to 5g) per 100ml–110ml of water in a porcelain Gaiwan or glass teapot.

  • Steeping Time: Flash steep the first 3 infusions for just 3–5 seconds. Gradually increase the steeping time by 5 seconds for each subsequent brew. This exceptional tea is highly durable and will gracefully yield 8 to 10 exquisite infusions.
