Product description

The Origin of Black Tea: Authentic Zhengshan Xiaozhong Experience a piece of tea history with our premium Zhengshan Xiaozhong, globally revered as the original Lapsang Souchong. Sourced directly from the protected core production area deep within the misty Wuyi Mountains, this tea represents the pinnacle of traditional Chinese black tea craftsmanship. Whether you are a seasoned connoisseur or a curious beginner, this tea offers a deeply comforting and refined drinking experience.

The Leaves & The Liquor Through generations of masterful withering, rolling, and oxidation, the leaves are shaped into perfection.

  • The Dry Leaves: Carefully hand-processed, the dry leaves are dark, tightly rolled, and beautifully wiry, radiating a sweet, malty fragrance even before brewing.

  • The Tea Liquor: Upon steeping, the tea transforms into a brilliant, crystal-clear amber-red liquor. It is visually stunning in the cup and incredibly silky on the palate.

Tasting Notes Unlike heavily artificially smoked teas found on the mass market, an authentic, high-quality Zhengshan Xiaozhong from the core terroir is characterized by its elegance, natural sweetness, and complex layers.

  • Aroma: Inviting notes of dried longan fruit, rich caramel, and a very subtle, comforting whisper of natural mountain pine.

  • Palate: Exceptionally smooth, mellow, and full-bodied. The primary flavor is a profound, malty sweetness intertwined with notes of honey and baked fruits.

  • Finish: A remarkably clean, lingering sweet aftertaste that warms the throat and soothes the soul.

Artisan Packaging True quality extends to the presentation. Carefully portioned to preserve absolute freshness, this tea is wrapped in elegant, minimalist kraft paper. Adorned with a classic red seal and traditional calligraphy denoting its elite Wuyi core terroir origins, it makes an exceptional gift for tea lovers or a sophisticated addition to your own collection.

Recommended Brewing Guide (Gongfu Style) To unlock the full spectrum of flavors, we recommend brewing in a porcelain Gaiwan or a seasoned clay teapot.

  • Water Temperature: 90°C – 95°C (Slightly off a rolling boil protects the tea's delicate sweetness).

  • Tea to Water Ratio: 1 single-serving packet (approx. 5g) per 110ml–120ml of water.

  • Steeping Time: Rinse the leaves briefly. Steep the first 3 infusions for roughly 5–8 seconds. Gradually increase the steeping time by 5–10 seconds for each subsequent brew. This tea is highly durable and will easily yield 6 to 8 delicious infusions.
